Philosophy

How we build AI
that actually knows you.

Three pillars separate a Hyperion agent from a generic chatbot. We named them so we could hold ourselves to them.

01

Prompt Engineering as Craft

The Cascade: Principles → Strategies → Plans → Actions.

Every Hyperion agent is built on a structural decision framework we call the Cascade. The agent moves from principles (what matters), to strategies (how we'll approach it), to plans (the concrete document), to actions (what we do today).

The Cascade is not a prompt. It's a refusal pattern. When a layer is missing, the agent asks. She never plans without strategies. She never strategizes without principles. This is what separates structured intelligence from chatbot guesswork.

Users feel it as "she actually understood my situation before recommending anything." Founders feel it as a layer that survives model upgrades. We write prompts like we write code — versioned, tested, evolved.

02

Evals as the Product

Every release ships with its test bench. Scores gate ship.

A chatbot is shipped when it feels good. A Hyperion agent is shipped when its evals say it's ready — or not at all. Every agent has a red-team prompt suite, a domain-accuracy set, a safety-guardrail suite, and a personality-drift monitor.

We treat evals as the product, not as QA. The eval bench is versioned, inspectable, re-runnable, and published with each release. Regressions are visible. Tradeoffs are explicit.

This is why we can promise that Violet won't diagnose, that Pearl won't moralize, that Amber won't hand you the answer. Not because we hope so — because the evals enforce it.

03

Specialization Beats Generality

A three-layer memory system. Your context. Your agent.

A general-purpose AI is a hallway — it welcomes everyone and remembers no one. A specialist agent has a three-layer memory system: an identity layer that evolves weekly (who you are), a journal layer that carries context across sessions (what we talked about), and a session layer (what we're doing right now).

Plus active recall: the agent can search her own memory when you reference something from weeks ago. She doesn't just know about you — she remembers being with you.

Depth beats breadth. A Hyperion agent cannot help with arbitrary questions. She will not wander outside her domain. She will know yours in extraordinary specificity. The longer you use her, the more costly she becomes to leave.

Our pledge

Your data. Your agency. Your agent.

Your data is yours.

End-to-end user-controlled memory. Export at any time. Delete at any time. Your training data is not our product.

Your agency matters.

Amber refuses to hand you the answer. Pearl won.t moralize. Every agent is designed to make you more capable, not dependent.
